GlobalAI Association announces the birth of its French branch in Nice

GlobalAI Association is proud to announce the creation of GlobalAI France, a new national branch based in Nice that will strengthen the organization’s presence within the European Union.

This new structure has been conceived with the same principles, operational model and mission as the Geneva headquarter, ensuring full alignment in values, objectives and governance.

A GlobalAI night in Nice

The choice of Nice as the home of GlobalAI France reflects the city’s growing role as a dynamic hub for innovation, research and international cooperation.

Located at the crossroads between Italy, Switzerland and the wider European Union, Nice offers a strategic position for building partnerships with universities, institutions, companies and civil society.

GlobalAI France will operate as an official national branch of GlobalAI Association, contributing to the same core mission: promoting responsible, inclusive and human-centered artificial intelligence, fostering dialogue between stakeholders, and supporting concrete projects with positive social impact.

GlobalAI France will be led by:

  • Pasquale Falconio, President
As President, Pasquale Falconio will oversee the strategic direction of the French branch, coordinate relationships with partners and institutions, and ensure consistency with the vision and values of the Geneva headquarter.
  • Stefano Ascani, Treasurer
As Treasurer, Stefano Ascani will be responsible for the financial management of the branch, guaranteeing transparency, sustainability and compliance with French and European regulations.

Together, they will closely collaborate with the GlobalAI Association leadership to develop programs and initiatives linking the French ecosystem to the broader international network.

A bridge between Geneva and the European Union

With the creation of GlobalAI France in Nice, the Geneva-based headquarter gains a complementary presence within the territory of the European Union.

The French branch is a direct extension of the Geneva “parent house”, created with identical statutes, procedures and goals for cross-border coherence.

This new structure will:

  • Facilitate collaborations with European institutions, networks and funding programs.
  • Offer a local entry point for French and EU-based organizations interested in working with GlobalAI Association.
  • Support projects, events and initiatives on French soil that are fully integrated into the global strategy of the association.

GlobalAI France shares the same mission as the Geneva headquarter:

  • Promote ethical and trustworthy AI that respects human rights and democratic values.
  • Encourage education, awareness and capacity-building on artificial intelligence for citizens, professionals and decision-makers.
  • Support research, innovation and projects that use AI to address societal, environmental and economic challenges.
  • Create a neutral space for dialogue between academia, industry, public authorities and civil society.

GlobalAI France mirrors Geneva’s governance and goals, ensuring continuity while adapting to France’s specific context and European opportunities.

In the coming months, GlobalAI France will start building its network of members, partners and collaborators in Nice, across France and within the wider EU.

Planned activities include:

  • Public events, conferences and round tables on AI and its societal impact.
  • Collaborative projects with universities, research centers and companies.
  • Training sessions and educational programs for different audiences.
  • Participation in European initiatives and calls related to AI and digital transformation.

Organizations, institutions and individuals interested in collaborating with GlobalAI France or learning more about its activities will be able to join dedicated newsletters, events and working groups.

GlobalAI Association sees the birth of GlobalAI France in Nice as a key milestone in its international development: a new step towards building a truly global, yet locally rooted, community dedicated to shaping the future of artificial intelligence for the common good.
